Happy Monday after Thanksgiving! Now is the time to start planning your Christmas festivities.
Six years ago, I first tasted this amazing martini at a local restaurant. It was love at first sip. In fact, often I’d suggest dining there just so I could have this cocktail. Eventually I knew I had to figure out the ingredients so I could replicate it at home for parties.
I told the bartender all the ingredients I’d guessed, but knew something was missing. He was kind enough to tell me what I’d overlooked and even helped me perfect it with the correct proportions. I’ve been serving them ever since, especially during the holidays because it looks so festive.
Pomegranate Bourbon Martini
(Serves two)
Combine the following in a cocktail shaker:
2 Ounces Bourbon
(Bartenders tend to prefer high rye bourbons, like Four Roses or Bulleit)
Juice of 1/2 lime (large)
1 Tablespoon agave nectar
1/4 Cup Pomegranate Juice
2-3 Dashes of Bitters
Garnish: Lime slices and pomegranate seeds
Shake vigorously and serve immediately
*If you plan to serve these at a party, I suggest premixing the ingredients and shaking over ice right before serving.
Cheers! xo
